To be free

A new year nears,
And I wonder:
What dreams
Dare I seek?

In asking, I find
The things I want
Aren’t things
That can be
Store bought, or
Grasped with my hands

They are:
Seeing (the better to know)
Knowing (the better to change)
Changing (the better to uplift)
Uplifting (the better to soar)
Soaring (the better
To show my sons
What it is like
To be free)

All,
Here is to our taking flight in 2015!

    That’s so beautiful

Thank you! I’ve been struggling to keep hope in mind while seeing many things that need to change. Writing this helped me lock in where I want to be, which is pushing forward for my dreams instead of merely reacting.

And, lo! This comment is now longer than its post. Oops.

Hahaha. Hey your sharing your hope with others through your poetry. Now thats a good gift to give to the world.

I got a D date at Disneyland last Sunday. Usually he wants to go on one ride over and over, so exploring the tree with him–and watching his exploration–was such a sweet treat. ♥

Those moments really are the best. And make the rest make more sense, I think.

Thank you! And warm greetings back. (I was tempted to add something in German, but … 14 years post college graduation, I’ve gotten a little rusty. Ahem!)

Thank you! It was one of those, “I cannot write these feelings down in prose” deals. πŸ™‚
