My next post involves an honest-to-goodness epiphany. I don’t mean the kind I experienced when I was nineteen, when the comic bubble exclamation mark over my head disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived, but rather the kind that sinks deeper and deeper into me with every step I take away from the moment of insight.

I’ve been trying to fit one particular song into the post, but it refuses to fit. I’m sharing it here because it deserves–no, demands!–to be shared, experienced and lived. Don’t just listen, even if you tend to tune out videos as I usually do. Watch it and let it sink in. Better still, let it inspire you.

It’s hard to speak certain truths, but bravery is in acting despite fear, not acting in its absence. I believe not only that you can be brave, but that you will be stronger and happier for it.

Like Sara Bareilles, I wanna see you be brave.

Thank you for sharing this. If we all learned how to be brave, maybe the world would become better, one brave act at a time.

Lisa has it right, if we all stood up and were brave, one act at a time, one day at a time even one moment at a time how much better the world would be.

I love you thank you for this one.

Every time I hear this song, or even think of it, goosebumps ripple down my arm. I’m not usually a fan of “rah rah” songs (not sung by P!nk), but this one was just nails it for me. ♥

I think that to be brave fear has to be present. If you have no fear and act there is no courage involved.
And yes, echoing everyone else. The world needs more people to face their fears and act.

I absolutely agree! If there’s no fear, there’s no bravery, because someone’s doing something that feels easy or natural. “Brave” is doing something despite its feeling terrifying or unnatural. That’s the defining characteristic for me.

Watching this video (which is so uplifting, cute, funny, and awesome) just made me cry because Maycee LOVES this song….and she IS brave. One of the bravest little girls I know. Thanks for posting the video. I’d never seen it before. XOXO-kasey

Even just thinking of this video lifts my spirits! It’s a perfect blend of silly and serious, so that it’s hard not to both smile and be inspired. 😀
